Nils Eckelt

Freelance trainer with hackers&wizards

Portrait of Nils Eckelt

Nils wrote his first database system at 15, for medical research at the Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf. Thirty years of practice later, 19 of them paid, one lesson stuck: most technical problems are organisational or prioritisation problems underneath. At ThoughtWorks he learned what 360 feedback does to someone who takes it seriously, and as Head of Engineering at ImmoSolve his job was helping a team find its own strengths rather than lending it his. At hackers&wizards he delivers Agentic Software Factory, and what he likes about agents is how they push the old engineering habits back onto the table, the ones everyone said mattered and few had time for. He runs his own factory across repositories: it writes requirements into the products, generates an architecture overview worth reading, and ships OTA firmware updates to a custom hardware product.
